Stormwater Management

FREY has conducted stormwater audits at various sites to assess compliance with federal, state, and local stormwater regulations as applicable. Recommendations are provided in the audits as warranted for implementation Best Management Practices (BMPs) which include protocol, procedures, and/or controls to minimize the potential for stormwater impacts from the facility. Recommend BMPs range from education and training, to designing and constructing devices to contain, and in some instances treat, stormwater run-off.

Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan

In order to assist with compliance of United States Environmental Protection Agency pollution prevention regulations (40 CFR Part 112), or more stringent state or local regulations as applicable, FREY prepares SPCC Plans as required. SPCC Plans are intended to guide facility personnel in preventing spills of hazardous substances that could impact stormwater, and for performing safe, efficient, and timely response in the event of a spill or leak. As part of the SPCC Plan preparation, FREY conducts a site audit prior to preparing the SPCC Plan. Any recommendations regarding deficiencies and their mitigation can be given to the client prior to preparation of the SPCC Plan.

Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)

FREY prepares site-specific SWPPPs, which describe the activities to be implemented to identify risk level and sources of pollution at a site, and the best management practices to prevent, control and/or reduce pollutants in stormwater at the site during and post-construction to the maximum extent practicable. FREY has qualified personnel on staff (QSD/QSP Certified) to develop and implement SWPPS for construction or industrial sites as required.

Other Stormwater Compliance Issues

Should a state or local jurisdiction have more stringent stormwater compliance requirements than mandated by the Federal EPA, FREY can assist with implementation of such requirements, including, but not limited to, preparation of Water Quality Management Plans (WQMPs), Stormwater Management Plans (SWMPs), and interpretation of specific Waste Discharge Requirements (WDRs).
