Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA)

A Phase I ESA is a non-intrusive review of a property's historical and current use, regulatory records, and site conditions to identify potential environmental liabilities before a transaction closes. FREY has completed over 1,000 Phase I ESAs and is known for thorough, trusted reporting with a 2-3 week turnaround.

Phase II Environmental Site Investigation (ESI)

When a Phase I identifies a recognized environmental condition, FREY's Phase II team steps in to sample soil, soil vapor, and groundwater. We've completed over 5,000 subsurface investigations throughout California, making us one of the most experienced Phase II teams in the state.

Government Funding

FREY specializes in acquiring government funding for our clients through various government programs, including the Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund (USTCF), the Orphan Site Cleanup Fund (OSCF), and the Site Cleanup Subaccount Program (SCAP). We have acquired over $250 million in funding for clients so far.

Remediation

FREY is an expert in remediating impacted sites and securing regulatory case closure. Our remediation work is performed entirely in-house, giving clients a single accountable team from remedy design through final closure letter.

Methane Testing

Methane testing identifies subsurface methane gas that can pose a safety hazard to buildings and occupants. FREY assesses methane concentrations at a site and designs mitigation systems to keep new and existing development safe and code-compliant.

Remedial Equipment Rentals

FREY rents Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) and Air Sparge (AS) systems, giving clients and other consultants fast access to proven remediation equipment without the cost of purchasing and maintaining their own systems.

Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling

FREY maintains an in-house groundwater monitoring team with fully equipped trucks, allowing us to complete routine groundwater monitoring and sampling events efficiently, consistently, and without reliance on outside subcontractors.

Asbestos Surveys

FREY conducts asbestos testing and surveys for properties throughout California, helping clients identify asbestos-containing materials before renovation, demolition, or redevelopment so projects can move forward safely and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
